It was a fun but busy summer with not much time to actually do any artwork. All I managed to do were a couple of 6″ x 12″ shell paintings intended for our newly renovated bathroom. It was an on again/off again project and I changed the background a couple times to coordinate with wall colors which complicated things but now nearly ready to call them finished. The shells in the top painting were taken from my father’s vast collection of shells he picked up on the Florida beaches many years ago. The shells in the bottom painting are a few of the ones I have collected on New England beaches. I would add that shells are fun but incredibly difficult to paint in a realistic manner.
