In order to create better compositions, I’ve been doing much drawing, focusing on lighting, values and composition. As part of this process, I recently became interested in botanical drawing using colored pencils and have been experimenting with this.
The subjects I found most inspirational were the sweet Italian peppers that I grew in my garden this summer. Every time I went out there was yet another very interesting specimen, each with their own lively characteristics.
