Many of you may recognize this beautiful old oak tree that stood by the Hopedale pond. Countless people from multiple generations have sat under the shelter of it’s branches for a few moments of peace and relaxation. Sadly for us all, this gentle giant fell during a snowstorm last winter. It’s stately presence is missed by all. 

I created this 9 x 12 acrylic painting on canvas from sketches I made a couple summers ago and reference photos taken at that time from the bench under the second smaller oak of the pair. This is the first landscape acrylic painting I’ve done and I spent many hours working on this painting, particularly the leaves and I’m quite happy with how it turned out.
