This is a total deviation from the norm for me. A beautiful Japanese water scene depicted on my granddaughter’s origami paper and she requested that I paint it for her. I always have trouble mixing blues for vast areas and this was no exception as the canvas is 20″ x 20″ but I did manage to sort it out pretty well. In addition, this was certainly an exercise in drawing thin straight lines! It was worse than making whiskers on the leopard and none of my brushes really cooperated, hence a lot of wiping and painting again.

And, even after completing the painting I still am not entirely sure what that huge mound of brown is in the foreground boat but my guess is a huge pile of shrimp.
